Put on your hostess hat and set the table, it’s that time again. Thanksgiving is here and who better to spend it with than your best group of friends?! (Because who has time for small talk with distant relatives or embarrassing family stories that are inevitably a part of the traditional Thanksgiving?)
First thing’s first, pop the bubbly! There’s a lot to prepare, and alcohol is going to be your saving grace. (Especially when your bestie brings up her ex that she swore she was over and ends up crying on your shoulder…for the third time.)
Music is a party must-have, but something about the warm fuzzy crackle of a good ole record player just takes it a step further. At the very least, it will make for a cute Instagram post.
Hosting is hard work. Between cooking, baking, and entertaining, you might need to slip away for a few and have a good Instagram scroll just to re-group. No judgement here, girl!
Set the mood! Nothing says holiday festivities like some classic fall-scented candles carefully placed throughout your table setting. (Also, a great photo-op for the gram!)
There’s no time to cook 16 different sides to please your vegan friend, your friend with the strange and unusual food allergy, or the friend who only decided to be gluten-free as part of some fad diet she read about in an Us Weekly. Luckily, there’s always the trusty frozen foods section at your local Trader Joe’s, because honestly, who can be bothered to cook a 3-course meal anyway?
It’s not a holiday without completely binging on pumpkin spice everything, and also, you’re just going to need a lot of alcohol on hand. Grab the glasses!
There’s the pre-meal look—something chic but still effortless. (You know, because you’ll be sweating over a hot oven and running around the house catering to everyone’s needs.) Then, there’s the post-meal look. This is your chance to show the group you can do it all–put on a stylish and fun party, while still totally slaying! (And if you didn’t get a pic for the gram, did it even happen?)
In case you didn’t already have enough to prepare, let’s add the task of coming up with trivia questions. (Who doesn’t love a round of laughs via pop-culture related trivia?)
By the time the food is done and ready to be served, why not hold things up even further by giving a toast? Remember, keep it short and sweet., people want to eat!
Want to make cleaning up a little easier? Give away your leftovers! Trying to find room in your fridge, is hard, but resisting the urge to binge on leftover pumpkin pie is even harder. Just make your friends take everything home!
Cheers to making this Friendsgiving your best one yet! Don’t forget to let us know in the comments below what you plan to do for the big day! Happy hosting…
