Beauty 101: How to Rock a Neutral Smokey Eye

16th Sep 2016 / By Guest Contributor

There’s nothing like a smokey eye to make your look pop. And while the ultra-dark iteration is our go-to when we’re hittin’ the town, this season, we took inspo straight from the runways of some of our favorite fashion shows to create a neutral, more subtle smokey eye. This lighter, more neutral version is ideal for days, nights, and everything in between.

Love this look as much as we do? Here’s how to DIY:

  • First, apply a light grey shadow as the base.
  • Next, sweep a shimmery hue on the lower half of your lid.
  • Sweep that same shimmery hue around and under your lower lash line.
  • Use a pointed brush to apply a black shadow on the outer corner of your eye.
  • Apply your favorite black eyeliner to your upper lash line, and blend out at the lid for a perfectly smudged finish.
  • Curl your lashes, and add layers of dark black mascara!
  • Add a pop of silver to the very inner corner of your eye with a thin brush.
