There’s nothing sexier than a babe in sky-high heels walking confidently up to a bar to order a martini. Make it a dirty martini and you just earned serious bonus points. A favorite of city girls and beyond, this briny cocktail boasts a savory finish that’ll leave you pining for more. And while a plain ‘ol dirty is always a good idea in our books, this iteration is even better.
Time to shake it up!
3 ounces of your go-to Vodka (we love Titos or Grey Goose!)
1 dash of dry vermouth
2 splashes of olive brine
2 blue cheese stuffed almond olives
Blue Cheese Almond Stuffed Olives (makes 24)
24 almond slivers
1 jar of large pitted green olives
¼ cup high-quality blue cheese
3 garlic cloves, smashed
10 whole black peppercorns
In a cocktail shaker, combine the vermouth, vodka, and olive brine. Then fill your shaker with ice and shake for around 1 minute. Strain the mixture into a chilled tall martini glass and garnish with the almonds.
For the olives:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the almonds in a small baking sheet and roast for 5-7 minutes, remove from the oven, and let cool. Drain the olives, but keep the brine. Form ½ tsp of blue cheese around almond and stuff each into an olive. Return the olives to the jar and layer with the garlic and peppercorns. Pour the reserved brine over everything to completely cover the olives. Tightly cover and shake. Let marinate for at least 2 days.
