The city of New Orleans truly lives and breaths a passionate and rich culture. During our time there we were privileged to meet one of our members, Allyson, who is just as passionate about her city as she is about fashion. While roaming the streets of this vibrant city with her, we wanted to learn more about her style inspirations, the hottest trends she is seeing in NOLA and how she would spend an ideal weekend in the city sporting her favorite JustFab styles. Here’s what she shared with us!
We <3 your style Allyson! Which one of our style personas do you identify with and why?
I associate myself with the Modern Classic persona. I prefer items that I can wear throughout the year. I like whites and solids. I’m not much of a trendy type; I don’t like styles that fade in a few months.
Most women find inspiration for their favorite styles through different sources like magazines, blogs and social platforms. Where do you get your style inspiration from?
This is a fun question, because I get my style from everywhere! When I go on vacation I pick up whatever the style is in that area, When I’m home since its soo hot I usually wear something light colored and flowing. I love dresses, and odd pieces that no one else has. I also get it from TV, or blogs.
Share 3 JustFab styles you are currently obsessed with and why?
Oversized Casual Tee: I love T shirts, they look really cute with everything from jeans to skirts, even under blazers.
Distressed Skinny Ankle Grazer: I know I said I’m not into trends but I’m really into distressed jeans, especially light colored ones for the summer. These are great!
Wrap Dresses: One of my all time favorites! Wrap dresses are so fun and easy and they always look good!
Tell us about some of the trends you are seeing in the city right now and loving?
I’m seeing plenty of fun summer hats, T-shirt dresses, tiny shorts, and loose fitting flowy tops. I’m also seeing espadrilles and cute flats, which I love.
Lastly, for our members who have never been to New Orleans, please describe what a fabulous weekend in the city would be like? Where would you go? What would you do?
New Orleans is an amazing city, you can get lost in the architecture and pretend you are in a European city. As soon as I land in New Orleans I would go straight to my hotel, whichAwould probably be the Windsor Court Hotel. After I check in I would go straight to Cafe du Monde for coffee andABeignets, and then hop on a horse and buggy for a tour of the French Quarters. I’m sure I would be starving and need a bite to eat; there’s a restaurant at every turn, so why not stop into one of them. After, i’d go uptown on Magazine St. for some shopping and a relaxing massage at Belladonna, then head back to the hotel to get ready for the evening. Irene’s Cuisine is where dinner will be, a lovely small restaurant with amazing local food and a killer wine list. After dinner, head over to the Ritz Carlton for a night of live Jazz, swing music, and drinks with friends until we can’t dance anymore.
