With Valentine’s Day approaching, I thought it would be the perfect time to treat my girlfriends to something special. After all, Valentine’s Day isn’t just for you and your boo. Show your friends you love them too and invite them over for a super fun and affordable night in. Bring out the wine and cheese, get crafty with this super easy DIY lip scrub and prepare to relax with a soothing Lush face mask!
Part 1: Lip Scrub
During the cooler season, most people suffer from dry skin. We tend to focus on creams to help our face, hands, etc. but what about our lips? They need attention too. A little exfoliation goes a long way, trust me! This lip scrub is all natural, affordable and works wonders! Plus, kissable lips are a must for Valentines Day!
Ingredients:
3 tbsp Organic Fine Sugar
1 tbsp Aura Cacia Organic Jojoba Oil or coconut oil
6 drops of Aura Cacia Organic Peppertmint Essential Oil or your favorite essential oil
1/2 tsp of Simply Organic Vanilla Extract or vanilla fragrance skincare oil
Grab a small bowl and add the sugar, jojoba oil and top off with a few drops of the peppermint essential oil.
Pour in the vanilla extract and mix all the ingredients. Feel free to add more ingredients based on your liking. I personally love adding a little extra peppermint oil for the for the cooling sensation.
Now that you’ve completed your lip scrub, simply apply a generous amount to your lips and scrub for about 20 seconds with your fingertips. Wipe the sugar off with a damp cloth and add moisturizing lip balm.
Part 2: Face Mask
Lately, I’ve been obsessing over Lush Face Masks. They are fresh handmade products with all natural ingredients. A small jar (like the one pictured above) ranges anywhere from 7-13 dollars. These must be kept in the fridge and only last about 3 weeks, so they are a great treat to share with your girlfriends. Each jar has a few servings.
I chose to feature the Rosey Cheeks mask, because of its beautiful soothing properties. Your complexion will glow after using this mask.
I decided to include steps for this as applying the mask is a very important part. Make sure you and your friends wash your face before applying the mask. Apply a generous amount to your face, moving in an upward motion. Start with your cheeks, move to your nose, forehead, etc. until your face is completely covered. Do not apply any product around your eyes.
Leave the mask on for about 15 minutes. Sip on some wine and relax. When your time is up, rinse off with warm water and apply your favorite moisturizer.
Just like that, you and your girlfriends can enjoy a little pampering on a budget. Their is no need to break the bank on a spa date. With the right products and setting, you can escape to paradise in no time.
I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day with the people you love!
