It’s finally cold here in LA which means it’s the perfect time to bring out your favorite layering pieces. Currently I’m coveting long trench coats and faux suede jackets. Didn’t you hear? Faux suede is super in right now. And trench coats? Well, it’s cold outside and your trusty trench is the way to go when trying to stay warm and stylish.
A faux suede jacket is a major staple piece this season. You can dress it up or down like I have with my favorite pair of distressed skinny jeans and a basic tee. I elevated this seemingly casual outfit with a pair of heeled booties which are my absolute fave, and then I added a bold green shoulder bag. For a simple outfit like this, I like throwing in a bold color to really make the outfit stand out.
Now let me tell you another little secret…The trench coat is a versatile piece you’ll want and love all season long. It’s sophisticated without trying too hard.
Take this simple shirt dress, for example: It looks cool and casual when I pair it with my favorite booties and then you add the trench coat and…voila! An instant update with just that added layer. Pair it with a tan shoulder bag and you’re ready for date night!
Now for something you can wear in the day but still looks absolutely stunning. Take the trench coat down a notch with a faux suede skirt (also a fall must-have). Keep the top simple with a basic tee and it’s the perfect day outfit. Of course, don’t forget your black booties (I could seriously live in them!) and your everyday tote. The perfect weekend outfit!
