Homemade Chocolate Face Mask for Radiant Skin

If you love chocolate as much as I do, you’ll be happy to hear that there’s a way to indulge yourself without the extra calories! Plus, today is Chocolate Day, so why not?

How, you ask? With a DIY chocolate facial mask! Chocolate facial masks have been around for centuries, dating back to Cleopatra days, and if it worked for the fabulous queen, we’ll definitely give it a try!

Our chocolate facial mask recipe not only helps hydrate your skin, but it also nourishes it to leave your skin feeling soft and smooth –just like a baby’s bottom! Here are some other benefits of adding a chocolate facial mask to your beauty routine:

  • Chocolate contains sulfur, which helps detoxify your skin
  • Removes dead skin cells
  • Contains powerful antioxidants
  • Acts as a moisturizer
  • Reduces the appearance of wrinkles
  • It’s dessert on your face!

Are you convinced? Great—let’s get chocolate-wasted!

Recipe:

  • 1 tablespoon EVOO
  • 2 tablespoons organic honey
  • 3/4 to full bar of dark chocolate

Supplies:

  • Microwave safe bowl
  • Stirring spoon
  • Paint brush

Instructions:

  1. Using a small microwave safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate until it becomes smooth.
  2. Mix in the honey and EVOO until the mixture becomes smooth.
  3. Stir the mask mixture and test the heat with your fingers. Make sure the temperature isn’t too hot before applying it to your face and neck.
  4. Using a paint brush or your fingers, apply the mask to your face and neck area.
  5. Let the mask sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water.
