Everyone knows that the New Year is all about change. Updating your home décor is the perfect project to begin with.  Don’t worry if you don’t have the funds for a complete home renovation. We’re sharing 3 creative ways to DIY Picture frames.

What you’ll need:
Laser cut wood frame
Paint brush
Blank paper
Pen or Marker

1. Paint your laser cut wood frame on both sides and allow to dry.
2. Take a sheet of paper and cut it down to size so that it fits the opening of the frame.
3. Using a pen or marker write an inspiration word, phrase or quote.
4. Apply glue around the opening of the frame.
5. Set the sheet of paper down on top of the glue making sure the writing is facing down. Allow glue to dry completely before hanging.

Shelf Frame

What you’ll need:
Old picture frame
4 pieces of scrap wood
Gorilla glue
Paint brush

1. Remove the glass and picture from the frame. Paint the entire front side of the frame to your desired color.
2. Using the same color, paint the individual pieces of wood. Keep in mind they should match the frame. Allow the paint to dry completely
3. Once your frame is dry, flip it over and apply glue around the perimeter.
4. Carefully place the individual pieces of wood on top of the glue, forming a box. Do not move until the glue is completely dry.

Chic Chalkboard Frame

What you’ll need:
Old framed picture with glass in tact
Chalkboard paint
Sponge or roller paint brush
White paint
Washi tape

1. Carefully remove the picture and glass from the frame. Using the chalkboard paint, complete coat the front of the glass. Allow to completely dry and add a second (and third coat if needed).
2. Paint the surface of the picture frame. You may need to use multiple coats of paint.
3. Once the frame dries, cover it with washi tape.
4. Place the glass back into the frame & secure.
