Business Womenswear: LA to NY

22nd Sep 2014 / By Guest Contributor

In honor of American Business Women’s day we want to indulge in some safe for work fabulous outfit ideas. No longer is the corporate businesswoman confined to pant suits and kitten heels. Fortunately for us, and the fashion industry, the modern day business woman is fashion-conscious and ever so stylish, especially in major cities like New York and Los Angeles.

Our LA business woman is casual in our Cosette Kimono Dress while still very chic in the Serova boots paired with the Urbane bag. Across the country our NY business woman prefers a more classic look in the Zuri Colorblock Dress and Classique satchel, paired with the edgy and sexy Losira boot.

Although these two women represent different coasts and lifestyles, their personal style doesn’t get lost in the day to day or the weather change. Whether she’s a New York Wall Street financier or a Hollywood music executive she’s got her own signature style and her own set of fashion rules. We’ve got the business womenswear style scoop: From LA to New York!

Los Angeles Business Fashion

The Los Angeles businesswoman is effortlessly charming and feminine. She loves print and floral and it’s sunny year-round so flare skirts and kimono dresses are a must. Give her the right heeled sandal and she can do it all.

Boho Chic: Sunny weather year-round calls for fun prints and colorful accessories. The Los Angeles businesswoman loves to pair a retro inspired dress with our Mayah metallic heeled sandal and a statement tote bag.

Flirty in color: Los Angeles is the perfect place to express yourself in romantic colors. Our dusty rose Jennifer A-line dress is perfect for the casual and feminine businesswoman. She can style it up with a heeled sandal or stay comfortable in our Britte flat. She’ll often add a fun summer bag like our Deja View bucket beauty.

Loose fit: The LA businesswoman has mastered the art of adding a feminine sassy touch to the “boyfriend” trend. On casual fridays you’ll see her strutting in her Thaden shootie and Jaclyn cropped pullover to go with her favorite boyfriend jean. One to never forfeit style for comfort, she always adds dainty accessory pieces to complete her outfit.

New York Business Fashion

The New York businesswoman loves high-waisted pencil skirts and bold trendy essentials to go with her every day wear. She is confident and sassy and dresses with purpose. She’s everything but laid-back and she’s got the wardrobe to prove it.

BusinessWomen_Blog03Fit and Flare: The New York businesswoman is a multi-tasker and always rushing to catch a cab, so it comes with no surprise that she loves to mix in comfort with her everyday fierceness. She loves to pair our JF Brenda Fit and Flare Dress with a block heel bootie like Talur. She puts a spin on the minimalist look by adding a statement necklace or a bold over-sized handbag like our popular Martin bag.

BusinessWomen_Blog01Black is the new Black: No, it’s not a dress code. Everyone in New York just loves to wear black. Don’t be surprised when the New York businesswoman walks into a meeting dressed in all black everything. Our Globetrotter bag and Luxia boot are the perfect black statement pieces for the office.

Structured Drama: I don’t know if it’s the skyscraper-ed skyline or the “swag” in the city, but the New York businesswoman loves a little drama in her closet like our Pfeiffer zebra sandals and the very structured Arrival bag. Structured blazers, structured pants, structured skirt suits—you name it, she’s got it.
