Happy Earth Day! Today gives us a chance to celebrate the Earth and reminds us that simple changes in our everyday lives can make a big difference. Over the past several years, the eco movement has made its way into all aspects of our lives, including fashion, health & beauty. To inspire you to live a green lifestyle this Earth Day, I’ve put together 5 ways to go green & stay chic.

Wear Florals & Plant Them Too

Whether planting a tree, herb garden or a pot of flowers, you can help clean up air pollution while contributing to the health & beauty of our planet. As the ever stylish Audrey Hepburn once said, “To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.”

Plastic is so Last Season

Plastic shopping bags are filling our landfills and polluting our oceans at an alarming rate. Tote bags are a much more eco-friendly option. Reusable bags come in all sorts of stylish shapes and prints, making your shopping trips a little less blah, and a lot more chic!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Reapply

Many of your favorite cosmetic companies use recyclable packaging or provide take back programs for empty containers. Some even offer other incentives for recycling, such as a free beauty product or a discount on your next purchase. Remember, reducing waste is always in style!

Why not invite your girlfriends over for a clothing swap party? Recycling clothing a great way to reduce waste, save our resources and ease the burden on our landfills. It’s also a fun way to do some spring cleaning and score some new fashion finds in the process!

LOVE EARTH… As Much As Your Shoes

Saving the world takes a little effort. Go green by adjusting your thermostat down 2 degrees, turning off the lights when you leave the room, and unplugging your cell phone charger when not in use. Not only are small changes like these good for the planet, but they can save you money too. Leaving a little extra in your purse for that must have pair of shoes!
