Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! Today is the day we remember the accomplishments of a courageous man that dared to dream, act and shape the history of this country. His legacy lives on and will serve as an inspiration for hundreds of generations to come. Here are several milestones from his lifetime that we will never forget.

1955: Received a Ph.D. in systematic theology. He also also led the Montgomery, AL bus boycott.

1958: Published the book Stride Toward Freedom: The Montgomery Story.

1963: Delivered his ‘I Have a Dream’ speech at the Lincoln Memorial.

1964: Won the Nobel Peace Prize.

1965: Organized a mass march from Selma to Montgomery, AL, that created national support for federal voting-rights legislation.
