While we love summer, we don’t love the harsh effects the scorching heat can have on our signature beauty look. Whether you’re spending the day by the water or enjoying outdoor activities, you can protect yourself from the elements, and look flawless. Check out our 12 tips to help you maintain a fresh beauty look in the midst of summer.

SPF Foundation: Create a flawless look and protect your pretty face from the sun with lightweight foundation or a BB cream that contains SPF.

Water: Keeping hydrated is the best way to achieve a natural glow. Good old H20 will help to rejuvenate your skin, prevent blemishes and reduce bags under the eyes.

Waterproof Mascara: Most mascaras are available in a waterproof formula and will keep you lashes looking lush all day. If you have a formal event, try waterproof eye shadow, eyeliner, and even waterproof bronzer.

Eye Primer: This is a great tip for both summer and winter. Before applying eye shadow apply a primer, this will help to keep the pigment in place and prevent any build up.

Blotting Sheets: These oil-absorbing sheets are perfect to throw in a purse or beach bag. The best part is they do not remove your make up, only the excess oil.

Leave-in Conditioner: Keep your tresses soft and moisturized by adding a dime-sized drop of leave-in conditioner to damp hair. Bring some along in a spray bottle and apply it after taking a dip in the pool or ocean.

Finishing Spray: Finishing spray helps set your make up and keep it looking flawless throughout the day. You spray it in your face after you have completed your makeup.

Lip-Balm: A tinted balm is the easiest way to add color to a natural summer look, and prevent your lips from drying out, or worse cracking.

Deodorant (before bed): The best time to apply antiperspirant is right before you go to bed. Clinical strength deodorant is actually designed for this because the body is at an even temperature it allows your pores to soak in the product.

Dry Shampoo: Spritz dry shampoo on your roots to help absorb oil, baby powder is also an alternative. The best part is dry shampoo helps lift and add volume to your hair.

Top Knot: This easy, trendy up-do is the perfect way to tame your mane, while still looking chic. Check out YouTube or Pinterest for a tutorial.

Vibrant Hues: Rock a pop of color with a fun manicure and pedicure.
