Hollywood With A Touch Of Twang

We all love fashion, music and summer vacays, so what’s the best way to bring these all together? The CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tenn.! A group of my sorority sisters and I took a weeklong vacation to Music City to watch various artists perform, sight see, and most importantly, bring some SoCal flair to the South. From honky tonks in downtown and touring the Grand Ole Opry to meeting new hot country duo Florida George Line, this trip has to be described to the very last detail for you to fully grasp what it means to be a country fan in Crazy Town.

Throughout the week, we explored traditional tourist spots including the famous Bluebird Cafe from ABC’s hit TV show Nashville, and grabbed a spiked tea at the Second Fiddle on Broadway. What we noticed is that the fashion in Nashville is completely different from Southern California!

During the day, everyone wore casual clothes. Many girls wore shorts with tank tops, flip flops and cute sunglasses. The most important thing was to be comfortable, because you were at the festival all day, and then you had to walk across the bridge to LP Field to see the headlining shows at night. Talk about walking off some calories!

At night, some girls dressed up their outfits by changing into cute dresses and cowboy boots. You can throw in a cowboy hat or two as well! On Wednesday night at the CMT Awards, girls didn’t forget their shimmery dresses in addition to their boots! Think red carpet American Country style! My favorite outfits that night definitely had to be Kimberly Perry’s red floor-length gown and Taylor Swift’s knee-length nude dress.

During the festival, Gloriana‘s Rachel Reinert wore a patriotic corset during the group’s performance of the Star-Spangled Banner. Her rhinestone American flag corset was a big hit amongst the girls in the audience! On the last night of the festival, the show was cut short due to bad weather, but Carrie Underwood’s outfit was not overlooked! She sported a ripped up white top with distressed American flag shorts and studded booties. Talk about country cute!

One last item that was crucial to this entire trip had to be…wait for it… a poncho! The weather in Nashville is clearly unpredictable, and we certainly were not prepared for it. Even my JustFab booties, Shania, took a beating! It’s okay, though, because they survived, and they still made my outfit look fabulous!

Check out some of my photos from the trip! If you can spot some JustFab items (handbag, sunglasses, shoes), then you are truly a fabshionista! Enjoy your summer and happy traveling!
