Hi, beautiful readers! Today is Take Your Daughter To Work Day, so I wanted to take the opportunity to talk about how important it is for women to get inspired to do what they dream of!
When I was little, I would spend the summers in my dad’s law office. There was an empty office that he turned in a ‘kids’ room,’ for the attorneys’ kids. We would color and have secret treasure hunts all day! Not surprisingly, I grew up thinking I wanted to be a lawyer, and even went so far as to study law in college.
Sometime during college, though, my real passion started to show through – beauty and fashion! It was such a stark contrast to law that I didn’t even consider doing it full-time for a while. But then I thought, ‘why not?’
My point is, anyone can make a career out of anything they dream up. You just have to go for it 110 percent. And, if you are torn between two dreams, find a way to fit them both into your life. For instance, in my case, who says you can’t wear fabulous JustFab stilettos to a law office? Shoes are a girl’s best friend after all.
