Do you love spaghetti but avoid eating it out of fear of ingesting all of those crazy carbs? In honor of National Nutrition Month, we’re sharing a yummy alternative you’re sure to love!I totally know how you feel especially while dieting for the upcoming Summer season. A few years ago I discovered an awesome and easy to make alternative which you can prepare just like your favorite spaghetti dish…spaghetti squash! Indulge in this healthy alternative and add all your favorite toppings while cutting out the carbs. It is super easy to make so check out the prep instructions below and enjoy!
What you need:
1 medium sized spaghetti squash
1 glass baking dish or shallow cookie sheet
1 cutting knife
2 cups of water
1 fork
Your favorite spaghetti toppings
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and cut your spaghetti squash in half lengthwise and scoop out seeds.
Pour 2 cups of water into the baking dish and place the spaghetti squash in the dish face down. Bake for 35 mins.
Once it’s tender, take your fork and start to scoop out the inside of the squash. Magically the core will shred like spaghetti on its own!
And now you have a yummy & healthy alternative to your traditional spaghetti noodles and you can add any toppings to it that you want. Check out some of the toppings that we chose at our recent spaghetti squash party here at the JustFab office!
Cheese, capers, olives, marinara sauce, salt & pepper
