Celebrate Wear Brown Shoes Day

4th Dec 2012 / By Guest Contributor

When I first started working at JustFab, I made it my mission to wear a different pair of shoes to the office every day. If I remember correctly (it was almost 3 years ago after all), I went about 2 months without repeating. That’s 40 pairs! Of course, if I started now, I could probably go twice as long! I’m telling you this because today is Wear Brown Shoes Day, a holiday that was supposedly founded to encourage folks to shake up their style and trade traditional black shoes for brown ones. Which means that there was a point in time when most people only had one pair of shoes, and it was black. Can you imagine? One. Pair. Of. Shoes. Regardless of how many pairs you own or what your go-to shoe hue is, today I urge you to reach for something in an earth tone. To offer you some inspiration, I pulled a few of my favorite cocoa-colored styles from JustFab. Tall sexy boot with a buckle? Yes, please. Emilia is the epitome of a luscious leg-lengthener made for walking. And that rich hue ain’t too shabby either!

Wear this boot with the fur and the whole club will be lookin’ at you! I love Jordi’s mix of tough details and cuddly shearling accents. You’ll stay warm and look hot in this coffee-colored ankle boot.

Sweet and smooth, Vidula’s root beer tone gives her classic silhouette a seasonal pop. Wear this platform bootie with or without tights and a flouncy skirt.

Since pumps are more my style, I made sure to include Steffie. Flat silver studs shine against velvety material the color of maple syrup. Makes me want to go back to New Hampshire or go home and cook up some waffles!

Last, but not least, is Evangelista. I figured a few of you out there would want a flat, and this sleek skimmer is fabulous. I love the polished tortoise print, while the metallic flecks and unexpected hardware details let this sophisticated style seamslessly shift from sun to stars.

Will you participate in Wear Brown Shoes Day? If you do, let us know which JustFab pair you wear!
