Fall is here and winter is coming. During the colder months, it seems we tend to lean toward the darker end of our closets: black, brown, navy… and more black. But this year, you can complement your darker duds with amazing rich jewel tones – they’re huge this season and were featured in the collections of some of the industry’s most influential designers.
My personal favorite colors this fall have been the saturated, but subdued, hues designers have to offer. Jewel tones can add richness and depth to your wardrobe. Think emerald, sapphire and ruby accessories for your darker monochromatic looks.
Instead of going for your basic black pant, try it in burgundy, emerald or sapphire. Don’t be afraid to pair these gorgeous colors with your blacks and neutrals. And some additional style advice: invest in an oxblood leather piece this season! Take advantage of this time of year to really balance your dark palette with splashes of bold jewel tones.
