After months and months of coveting cat face flats on Pinterest and countless fashion blogs, I decided to make my very own fashionable feline flats. I took my already adorable JustFab Jemimah flats, gently removed the darling bow and gave her a purr-fectly playful makeover. Grab a pair of flats and check out how to DIY your own cat face flats!
What you’ll need:
Two hours of craft time
A pair of flats
Gold acrylic paint
Paint brush
Fabric glue
Black felt (for the ears)
Light color pencil for dark flats
Eraser
Tracing Paper
Scissors
Tape
Step One:
Begin by taking your pencil and drawing a cat face on a sheet of tracing paper. Once you’re happy with your feline’s face, tape the corners of the drawing onto your shoes. Rub the eraser on the back of the drawing to transfer the cat face outline onto your flats.
Step Two:
Once the cat face outline is on your flats, fill in the outline using your paint brush and gold acrylic paint. Our Brand Ambassador Manager, Claudia, suggested adding a bit of sparkle by going over the mostly dry acrylic paint with gold glitter nail polish, super cute and totally optional.
Step Three:
Begin making ears while your cat faces dry. Cut triangles out of felt, desired ear size is up to you. Add gold acrylic paint to the center of the triangles to create inner ears. Once the inner ears have dried, take your fabric glue and add the ears to your flats or you can sew on the ears.
Step Four:
Let your flats dry overnight and enjoy!
