Booties, booties, booties… where do I start?! It is my opinion that booties might be the best invention since sliced bread. And even that doesn’t give them enough credit! From flats to stilettos, wedges to block heels, booties have become as much of a staple in a modern woman’s wardrobe as the infamous little black dress. They can be worn with everything from jeans and floral day dresses to your hottest little cocktail numbers. As we walk our booties into fall, here are a few ways I love to wear them.
I spend all day every day on my feet, so one of my favorite go-to styles has to be the lower block heel bootie. I love pairing them with my favorite skinny jeans or a rolled up boyfriend jean and a chunky knit sweater for an easy, classic look. For something a bit more fashionable, I’ll pair them with printed harem pants and a silk button-down shirt. For something a bit more fun and girly, I’ll wear them with a skater-style skirt, black tights and a cute blouse. On some of those hotter days when fall still feels a bit more like summer, I’ll wear them with my favorite vintage floral dress and a denim jacket.
Now, when it comes to nighttime, I love a stiletto bootie more than anything! For a cooler, edgier look, I like to wear a great stiletto bootie with skin-tight leather leggings, a graphic T-shirt and a blazer. Or, if I want to be a bit funkier, I’ll swap the blazer for a faux fur vest. I also love this style with a long-sleeved body-conscious mini dress for a simple, but sexy, look.
But, my all-time favorite nighttime look would have to be a girly cocktail dress with sexy lace-up stiletto booties and a studded leather motorcycle jacket. When I say girly, I mean everything from sequins to ruffles to tones of pink; and let’s not forget tulle and lace! A strong black stiletto bootie is the perfect balance to anything overly feminine.
As you can see, booties have become an absolute must in my life (and the majority of my outfits). Here’s hoping a few of these ideas might inspire you to create some of your own fabulous looks!
XOXO,
Nina
