Studs have long been a part of our wardrobes. From the days of punk rock and ’80s hair metal, studs, spikes and grommets have provided us with the opportunity to add a little edge to our favorite looks. I couldn’t be more excited to continue to embrace this trend for fall.
One of my favorite ways to incorporate studs into one’s wardrobe is with accessories. Taking a page out of the Valentino design book, I love the addition of studs to otherwise more feminine items. Pointy toe ballet flats with bows and studs and classic totes adorned with studded trim… both are amazing examples of toughening up ladylike items. That being said, my all-time favorite way to incorporate studs is with a great studded leather jacket. This is a staple that every woman should have in her closet. It looks equally good with jeans and T-shirts, as well as floral tea dresses. Every look immediately gets a little Kate Moss cool when adding this essential.
However, studs are no longer being relegated to just leather accessories and jackets. We are seeing this trend being incorporated into denim shorts, Converse sneakers, blazer shoulders and collared shirts. Needless to say, I don’t think that this trend will be going anywhere any time soon!
Xoxo,
