A few days ago, I opened the door to my apartment and instantly thought to myself, “Why in the world is it so hot today?” I looked down at my outfit, which consisted of dark wash skinny jeans, a baby pink tank top, cream cardigan and pastel-print lightweight scarf. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to go back in and change, or I would have been late (aka even more late than I already was) for a meeting.
Fast forward 30 minutes: one road rage outbreak, and a spilled iced coffee on previously mentioned cream cardigan later and I’m rushing into the conference room. The first words out of my mouth are, “Does anyone know why it’s so hot? Is there a hot flash going on?” Blank stares. Then it hit me… it’s officially summer. OK, so I get it now.
For those of you who may not know, I’m Blair Fowler, a YouTube beauty vlogger under the screen name JuicyStar07. Over the past four years, I have been creating makeup and hair tutorials, beauty product reviews, and fashion videos to be uploaded to my channel. Each month I will be doing a new exclusive to JustFab blog post! After my experience, I decided it was time to share my top three summer beauty items that every girl should own.
1. TINTED MOISTURIZER
Sometimes a heavy foundation can be too much on a hot summer day, so I turn to a tinted moisturizer. My favorite is the Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer. It’s the perfect blend of lightweight lotion and sheer coverage foundation. It gives me a more even skin tone and eliminates the redness on my face, but doesn’t appear “cakey” at all.
2. WATERPROOF MASCARA
Covergirl LashBlast Waterproof Mascara has saved my life a few times already this summer. From pool parties in Bel Air to scuba diving in Cabo, it’s by my side. I hardly ever wear makeup if I know I’ll be in the water, but decided a little mascara couldn’t hurt. After I applied it, I realized it could! I was so scared I would get out of the ocean with “raccoon” eyes, but even after being 40 feet underwater it wasn’t smeared at all! My new daily mascara for summer.
3. SILKY LIP STAIN
A silky lip stain is just what I need for shopping during the hot days, and dancing through the warm nights. Tarte Cosmetic’s LipSurgence Lip Tint is that perfect product. It comes in multiple shades, and I definitely recommend the investment! They’d also be great to throw in your bag for back to school.
