Radiant Orchid

Pantone has announced its 2014 Color of the Year, and it’s Radiant Orchid! As we work our way into a new spring season, I have to say that this choice came as a bit of a surprise to me at first. After seeing all of the designers’ Spring ’14 runway collections last fall, Radiant Orchid was certainly not a hue that was wildly seen or used. We did, however, see tons of blush tones and pale pinks, white collars, sporty inspired articles, great metallics, and of course, what spring would be complete without a solid dose of florals? What I slowly started to realize, though, was what a fantastic color Radiant Orchid could be if used as an accent color with all of the fantastic spring trends coming our way.

Fun With Friends Ensemble

The holidays are not only approaching, but they are here my friends! It’s time to strap on your party shoes and get ready for all of the exciting holiday celebrations. We all know how wild the company holiday party can get, how fun our friend’s New Year’s party always is, and how comforting celebrating with our families can be, but somehow, I know we can all get a bit perplexed as to what the appropriate thing to wear is. Here are a few tricks to help you pull off your numerous events this holiday season with style, grace, and most importantly, fun.

Metal Accented Shoes and Bags

Fall temperatures are finally upon us, and it’s time to start wearing all of the fabulous fall fashions we have been dying to bust out. From emerald green to cherry red, leathers to colored furs, and ladylike to ’90s grunge, there is one accessory trend that pretty much works with them all…metal accents. I love when you find a trend that is as diverse and versatile as this one. Regardless of your go-to look, color or fabric, you will certainly be able to find a way to incorporate this trend into any of your outfits.

Berry To Cherry Fall Color Trend

Maroon has long been one of the staple colors we tend to see a lot of in designers’ fall collections. This season, we are seeing an interesting array of deep maroons mixed with a variety of berry to cherry tones. Designers are using this color palette on everything from knits and satins to leathers and exotic skins. Not only are we finding this trend in clothing, but also in beauty! Here’s how you can embrace these succulent shades this season.

Fall Catwalk

With the official start of fall just days away, it’s time to start taking a serious look at some of our favorite fall shoe shapes. Of course, we will see plenty of boots and booties, and this season there has even been a huge influx of brogues and loafers. But with all of these heavier styles making such an impact this season, I am pleased to see such a wide variety of more feminine strappy styles. From ankle straps to T straps and even strappy boots, there are enough styles this season to keep you busily shopping for quite a while.

With Labor Day just moments away, we start to say goodbye to a beautiful summer and embrace the new fall season… and more importantly, the new collections! Fall is full of amazing new trends: menswear-inspired coats and fabrics, punk-rock glam, mid-century silhouettes, even crazy colored coats and furs. There is certainly enough variety to keep us busy. Of course, there are always just a few colors that seem to work their way into most of the trends, and this season, emerald is making a big splash! Here are a few ways this color has infiltrated the hottest trends of fall 2013.

Bootie With Mini Dress

In fashion, we often find that the truly great trends tend to repeat themselves every few years. This season, it’s happening to one of my all-time favorites… the pointy toe shoe! When I think of this silhouette, I am reminded of the Hollywood greats of the 1950s and ’60s. Fabulous ladies, like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly… women who oozed class and grace from every pore of their beings. This season, we are seeing this classic silhouette, plus a few ‘bells and whistles’ to make it fresh and on-trend for all of your summer looks. From bold colors and ankle straps to toe-caps and even booties, the pointy toe shoe has definitely been given a bit of a makeover for 2013. In an attempt to make it easier for you to incorporate this trend into your wardrobes, I thought I might share a few of my favorite ways to wear this silhouette.

Look1

Nothing says summer more than sailing the ocean blue. And although not all of us are fortunate enough to be docking our sailboats in Cape Cod this summer, we can all enjoy incorporating the classic nautical trend into our wardrobes. The nautical trend has always been one of my favorites. Although it isn’t exactly a ‘new’ trend, it is certainly a very prominent one this summer. From boatneck striped tops to high-waisted shorts to espadrilles and even nautical-inspired jewelry, there is definitely a way for everyone to incorporate some element of this trend into their wardrobe.
