Summer is a time to relax, visit with family, spend time outdoors – and travel! We all have different approaches to travel due to shifting lifestyles. Some of us keep it local, some of us travel to visit family. Some of us do road trips across the country. Summer has always been my family’s time to get out and see the world. But no matter how each of us approach our summer travel plans, we ALL want to look fab! So…what to pack?
This Summer, I’ll be hitting up a few different destination with my family. And for each stop of the trip, it’s important to pack no-nonsense basics that are chic, versatile and fun.
For Paris or Tokyo, I love a smart pair of trousers paired with simple, but chic, flats and a knit top with a scarf that adds a little bit of festive flair. Paris is a walking city, so I try to pack sensibly, knowing that I’ll be sight-seeing along the avenues or exploring busy markets looking for one-of-a-kind thrills!
A trip to Cannes means puttin’ on the ritz. I love a stiletto paired with a fitted white jean or party dress with super chic embellishment for after-hours gatherings with friends.
In St. Barths, I love a flowing maxi dress with gladiator sandals. The dress often doubles as a cover-up for those apres-beach moments. I try to dress with a lot of color. Bring on the brights! A beachy tote completes my all-day illusion and will hold everything you need to stay fab.
These are some of my favorite destinations, but no matter where you’re headed this summer, remember that dressing to impress and dressing for comfort are not mutually exclusive. The right bag and footwear are the perfect punctuation – no matter the look or setting. And don’t forget the one thing we all must wear without fail – sunscreen!
