Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but I’m more than happy to make acquaintances with rubies, emeralds, sapphires and any other precious stone that comes my way. If it sparkles and shines, I want it! So obviously I don’t need any excuse to celebrate jewels, but I’ll take it. In honor of National Jewel Day, join me on a tour of the year’s most beguiling gems: birthstones. Each month is assigned a stone (or two), but who can ever remember them all? And what do they even mean?
How will you celebrate National Jewel Day? Perhaps you should buy yourself a little something pretty… If you’re looking for some inspiration, check out our jewelry best sellers!
June is also pearl, November is actually citrine, and December is also blue topaz. And like someone else said real sapphire looks black unless the light hits it.
Alexandrite is called a Ruby by day and an Emerald by night. It is named after the Russian Zahr Alexander the Great, the stone was found on his birthday!! It is a beautiful stone!!
Some months have 2 stones... like October is Opal and Pink Tourmaline, and December is Blue Zircon and Tanzanite and June is Pearl, Alexandrite and Moonstone!!
Ummm December was originally Turquoise now it's Blue Topaz......it was never Tanz. And November is Citrine
I'm just saying Da Truf, how more of a sign is there lmfao! I honestly had no clue bout that lil fact tho. See I'm good w names
